THE ARTIST
Sia Barton is a kid who loves creating all kinds of art: painting, sculpting, poetry, fashion design, photography, crafting. When she began learning about entrepreneurship in her homeschool curriculum, she wondered if she could turn those passions into a business. With the support of her parents, she decided she would start selling handmade jewelry and accessories. She has begun selling in private sales as well as at events, crafting her wares in her spare time while also learning how to calculate the cost of doing business, price her products, conduct market research, advertise, and practice excellent customer service-all valuable lessons about being in business.
THE CRAFT
The pieces sold by Razzle Dazzle Boutique are handmade and fashioned from a variety of materials. Some are made from natural elements that Sia finds (such as rocks that she tumbles to a smooth polish), or vintage thrift store finds. Others are fashioned out of carefully selected craft materials, and still others are sculpted by hand. Mixing raw and earthy elements with bright colors and sparkle, the collection expresses her love both for nature and science, as well as fashion and fun.
